Case of Samana G. Magar (Post Burn Contracture)
Family members: The family type is nuclear and there are 7 members in her family.
Economic Status: The family is poor and deprived from the economic aspect. However, they have a small plot of land for cultivation which does not meet even the food demand of the family. Khim Bahadur G. Magar is working in a daily basis to meet the need of his family. Date of first visit at HRDC: The parents of Ms. Samuna G. Magar were worried about her as she was the tertiary victim of Post Burn Contracture (PBC), so they decided to admit her in the Apang Nawajivan Kendra. Apang Nawajivan Kendra helped her to bring at Hospital and rehabilitation Centre for Disabled children (HRDC) for her necessary treatment. The right leg of the child was self imputed due to burn complications. It was the first day dated 16th December 2011, when Mr. Khim Bahadur brought his child to HRDC. They followed treatment and rehabilitation procedure as per the recommendation of Medical team, Physiotherapy and others as related. After the OPD consultation, she was admitted for the re constructive surgery which was done on 23rd December, 2011. The surgical intervention was done for the Left leg amputation. The patient condition gradually improved and was discharge from HRDC with her smiley face Schooling condition: Due to her disability condition, her schooling was delayed. She is studying in Nursery level. Her parents wish her to be a social person in her future. Present Situation: Though the Rt. Above knee amputation is done she is ADL (Activities of Daily Living) independent with the help of Prosthesis. She is very happy with her life. She is still under the follow up service of HRDC. They (Parents of Samana) are very happy with Apang Nawajeevan Kendra for their valuable suggestion. They want to thank heartily to HRDC for providing the rehabilitation services which make her daughter’s life to live a life.
