1984/85
Terre des Hommes initiated the Program in Jorpati, Kathmandu

Development

HRDC established in 1985
1985 – 92: Jorpati (Kathmandu Valley)
Program matured slowly and became a fully fledged tertiary level hospital.
Training and education became part of the work.
Field follow up program started in 1989 to educate clients and save investment.
Closed the venue in 1992.
Friends of the Disabled was registered 1992 September
 
1993 – 97: Dhobighat, Lalitpur District
Relocated the services from January 1993 to Dhobighat, Patan.
Terre des hommes, the sole donor for 12 years (1985 – 1995) is slowly withdrawing.
Christoffel Blindenmission Mission’s support started.
American Himalayan Foundation (AHF) began assisting us to train Professionals.
Field follow up and home visit programs were strengthened which complement the hospital based activities.
New Complex built in Adhikari Gaon, Janagal (near Banepa), Kavre District. (Banepa is a valley adjoined to Kathmandu valley in the east)

Services delivered in a full swing from the HRDC complex, Adhikari Gaon, Janagal (near Banepa) Kavre district
American Himalayan Foundation came into operating cost also.
To cope with the dwindling financial support from TDH, we started strategic initiation towards sustainability
+ Donors Diversification + Client Partnership
+ Developing Endowment + Widening Visibility
Regular follow up/Community Based Rehabilitation in 19 districts = 3999 patients by 15 field workers.
