Training and Education Department chiefly coordinates and plans internal and external training programs, research activities and library facility as well as health education to the clients (patients and guardians).

It plays a major role in extending opportunities to HRDC staff and also to personnel from partner organizations for enhancement of knowledge and skill in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation by conducting quality training programs.

The core training programs conducted at HRDC are Primary Rehabilitation Therapy (PRT) Training, PRT Refresher Training, and Skill Training on Orthopaedic Shoes. HRDC also frequently organizes staff development trainings in key areas like Management and Leadership, Communication Skill, Computer etc.

Besides, HRDC is one of the two training centers for a 3-year Master of Surgery (MS) program in Orthopedic. MS Program started in 1998 and in affiliation with Kathmandu University Medical School, two to three MBBS graduates are trained in this faculty every year. So far, the 3 rd batch has successfully completed its MS Program.

This department reports directly to Human Resource & Rehabilitation Manager.
